Flooring Installation Tips (part two) Carpet

Carpet:

-Pros: Carpet can add a lot of character to any room, with its large variety of textures and colors makes it a great choice for anyone wanting to be creative. Able to be used in any floor level since temperatures will not expand the fibers. Unlike other flooring carpet is very flexible with home location, in other words if you live in a place with a lot of movement (structure wise) carpet would be a great choice. For those of you that  have a hard time with carpet because of your allergies there are carpets that are specific to your problems.

-Cons: As most of us know, carpet is difficult to maintain and clean. You have it clean one day and the next its dirty once more. Although very beautiful, one stain can ruin the look of any carpet. Since most carpet is absorbent one spill could end up leaving a permanent stain.

Carpet has become less popular in the last years and has been struggling to keep up with most other floor types. The reason is that most people get tired of having to maintain it. Carpet becomes such a hassle without proper care, but new ways of carpet productions has made carpet much easier to maintain. What throws people off though is the price of them. Many don't know that even though it comes at a higher price, many companies offer low installation services that make up the difference. Such carpets are much durable and water resistant that others of a cheaper price.

Carpet Styles Tips:
Keep in mind many carpets have different styles, in other words the way the carpet fibers are made up. Knowing this will help you better understand what you are looking for since each have a different feel. Each carpet also has a density which signifies how much fibers are within a certain area, the more density the better the carpet. Depending at where you shops ask questions about each individual style, inform them about the foot traffic the floor will be enduring, and if you have pets certain carpets would not suit.

Things to Consider:
1.Look for stain protection with R2X® technology. I've seen this stuff first hand, unlike most other carpets this is very resistant to water. Unlike most other protection where they are just covered on top this is build right into the fibers, both top and bottom.
2. Carpet padding is also key, the more expensive the better. Most premium padding will prevent stains from reappearing over and over again after times of cleaning. Ask about your options and the advantages.
3. If you have a mobile home carpet will probably be a good choice since they are susceptible to movement.
4. If a carpet plan is available consider the option, many companies will not back up your warranty if the proper care is not taken. Most of the time self cleaning will void the warranty.
